Stablecoin networks explained: choosing the right chain when moving USDT
Stablecoins such as USDT are popular because their value is designed to track a fiat currency, which makes them convenient for moving value between platforms. What surprises many new users is that the same stablecoin exists on several different blockchain networks. A transfer only works when the sending side and the receiving side use the same network. Choosing the wrong one is one of the most common reasons funds go missing. This guide explains how networks work in plain terms and gives readers in Bangladesh a safe routine for every transfer.
One token, many networks
A stablecoin issuer can create tokens on several blockchains. Each version lives on its own network with its own addresses, confirmation times and withdrawal costs. When an exchange such as Binance, OKX, Bybit or Bitget shows you a deposit address, that address belongs to one specific network, which is displayed next to it. Always read the full network name, not just the token symbol.
Matching both sides of the transfer
Before sending, open the deposit screen on the receiving platform, select the network and copy the address. Then, on the sending platform, choose exactly the same network in the withdrawal form. If the sending side does not offer that network, do not pick a different one hoping it will work. Look for another network that both sides support, or ask official support first. If a memo or tag is shown, include it.
Withdrawal costs and timing
Networks differ in how long confirmations take and what the withdrawal fee is. The withdrawal screen usually shows the current fee for the selected network before you confirm. Read it each time rather than assuming it is the same as last week, because fees can change with network conditions. Confirmation times also vary, so do not panic if a transfer takes longer than a previous one.
Test small and keep records
For any new combination of platform, wallet and network, send a small test amount first and wait until it arrives. Record the date, network, amount and transaction ID. If a transfer does not show up, check the transaction on a block explorer and then contact official support through the help centre, never through people who message you offering to recover funds.
Risk boundary: Bangladesh Crypto Guide
Digital assets are volatile and derivatives can amplify losses. This website has no login, wallet connection, deposit form or customer-support chat. Availability can differ by residence, legal entity and product, so no regional access is assumed from language or branding alone.
Scenario checkpoint
- Read the full network name next to every deposit address
- Select exactly the same network on the sending and receiving side
- Include the memo or tag whenever one is shown
- Check the withdrawal fee shown on screen before confirming
- Send a small test transfer first and record the transaction ID
